Who we are Our History
Scott's Refrigerated Freightways was established in 1952 by Don Scott, the father of long-time Managing Director, Bruce Scott. Don was a 24 year old refrigeration mechanic who decided to take his trade to the highway and with primitive machinery delivered his first load of refrigerated goods in a trailer he had both built and refrigerated himself.
Don had a vision that refrigerated transport would become more essential and set out to build a company that offered supply chain solutions to food manufacturers within Australia. The industry has seen a magnitude of change, particularly with the introduction of Chain of Responsibility legislation and the growth of major retail supermarkets, however, Don's basic objective to deliver his customers goods on time and in perfect conditions remains fundamentally unaltered today as the core value of the Scott's business.
Scott's are determined to remain the leader in our industry and strive to deliver the maximum benefits to our customers, staff, shareholders and the wider community through education and continual improvement initiatives. We constantly embrace new technology and staff development to ensure we maintain our position as a market leader and logistic provider of choice that links many of the nation's great manufacturers and retailers.
In May 2014 Scott’s became part of Automotive Holdings Group, a diversified automotive retailing and logistics group with operations in every Australian mainland state and in New Zealand. AHG is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange under the ticker AHG.
